St. Agnes Convent in Prague
Helena Soukupová's book summarizes the history of Agnes's life and her monastery from its foundation to the present. In ten chapters, the book describes Agnes's significance in the history of the Franciscan Order and the fate of the monastery from the Middle Ages to the current restoration and use of the building as the seat of the National Gallery in Prague. This is the second, supplemented and expanded edition of a monograph from 1989, which the author enriched with new findings in the field of architecture, illuminated manuscripts, tombstones, archaeological finds and others.
